10 Highest Peaks

One Epic Weekend!

A short, sharp adventure through the heart of Kosciuszko National Park — taking on Australia’s ten highest peaks over four solid days. Don’t let the timeframe fool you. The distance, the terrain and the alpine conditions make this a serious challenge, but the views and the experience pay you back every step of the way.

The backdrop is the stunning Snowy Mountains, we cross the iconic Snowy River and take in views of the highest glacial lakes in Australia.

The trip begins in Canberra before heading to Charlotte Pass and hiking into Seaman’s Hut, where we establish a base camp for three nights. From there, we tackle the range in two big days. Six peaks on day two, followed by the final four peaks on day three, finishing on Mount Kosciuszko at 2,228m.

The final day sees us hike back out to Charlotte Pass before returning to Canberra for onward travel.

This is a compact adventure and a great challenge with fifty kilometres of rugged terrain, ten peaks, and epic alpine scenery.

TREK ITINERARY

Day 1: Meet and greet then we hit the road

We depart from the Vibe hotel in Canberra at 12pm and travel to Jindabyne before continuing on to Charlotte Pass.

After around three hours on the road, we set off on a 9km hike to Seaman’s Hut, where we establish camp for the night. This will be our base for the next three nights.

Day 2: First six peaks in the Kosciuszko National Park

Today is a big one as we take on the first six peaks in Kosciuszko National Park. We start early and make our way over Byatts Camp, Abbott Peak, Mount Townsend and Alice Rawson, before dropping into the valley and climbing back out the other side.

From there, we continue on to Carruthers Peak and finish the day on Mount Twynam before trekking back to camp. The day typically runs between 9 and 12 hours, depending on conditions.

Back at camp, it’s time to eat, rest and reset.

Day 3: Final four peaks in the Kosciuszko National Park

Today we move across Ramshead, Ramshead North and Etheridge before finishing on the highest point in Australia at 2228m — Mount Kosciuszko.

It’s a shorter day than Day 2, but still a solid 5–6 hours on the trail.

We return to camp for our final dinner and a chance to unwind and swap stories from the last few days on the range.

Day 4: Trek out and head home

We start the day by trekking back out to Charlotte Pass, then drive back to Canberra for airport drop-offs and onward travel home.

You’ll head home tired, satisfied, and glad you made the time.
